Bibliometrics and Scientometrics for Geomorphology

I am interested in citation analysis, bibliometric, scientometric, and altmetric studies of the geomorphology corpus. My goal is to investigate how we are communicating to one another (as scientists), how studies are actually (re)used by the community, and quantifying scientific communication with the public on social media and across the Web. This is one way of investigating the dynamics and connections of the Geomorphology/Earth Surface Processes research community.

In addition to published work (Goldstein, 2017a; 2017b), this is an area of focus for my blog. I am collecting all of the relevant posts here:

  • Peer Review
    • Peer Review debates (AGU EOS 2003)
    • A ‘toy’ peer review model (Agent Rules, Initial Results, Previous Work, Future Directions)
